Hand-selected from England and dating to circa 1870, this true mirror-image pair features an incredibly rare and desirable design—each majestic lion is modeled resting gracefully atop a hand-painted blue and amber striped cushion. Differing from typical stern or stylized mantle lions, this pair is celebrated for their remarkably sweet, expressive, hand-painted facial features and beautifully detailed, flowing manes. They possess the perfect blend of folk-art character and sophisticated color contrast, making them an ideal statement pair for flanking books on a library shelf or commanding a mantlepiece vignette.

Dimensions
5.5”L x 3”W x 4”H

Condition
In lovely antique condition, showcasing a vibrant glaze and a beautiful, authentic all-over crackle crazing that highlights their age, one is slightly lighter tone than the other.
