About
Discover a highly collectable, extraordinary example of 19th-century scale craftsmanship with this Antique Victorian miniature tilt-top table. Sourced from England, this authentic piece was masterfully created as a cabinetmaker's apprentice piece or workshop salesman's sample to showcase advanced geometric veneer work. The circular tabletop features a striking 8-pointed compass rose star expertly executed in geometric marquetry using alternating tones of walnut, satinwood, and ebonized woods. Operating on an early, hand-cut brass flathead screw pivot mechanism, the top tilts seamlessly to a vertical position. The upper assembly rests on a handsomely turned pedestal support transitioning down to a curved tripod platform base with classic block feet.

Condition
This apprentice piece is in beautiful antique condition as found. The underside reveals entirely unvarnished secondary wood with a rich, natural oxidation patina and hand-tooled construction details that beautifully verify its age. The top surface features a warm, lustrous historical finish with authentic "working life" character marks, including minor wear and fine hairline shrinkage gaps between the wood marquetry wedges. The brass screw tilt mechanism operates smoothly, and the tripod base is structurally sound and stable.
